    Frequently Asked Questions

1.How do I book my immigration medical?
To book your immigration medical, please call us to confirm your appointment. We kindly request you to call again on the day of your appointment to reconfirm your time slot.
2.Can my regular GP complete my immigration medical?
No. Immigration medicals must be completed by an approved panel doctor. If New Windsor Medical Centre is your regular GP, we cannot complete your immigration medical. If your application is already initiated with another provider, we recommend completing it with them.
3.What should I bring to my appointment?
    • Valid passport (cannot be expired)
    • Any communication or documents requested by Immigration NZ
    • Medical history from your GP and any specialist reports (if applicable)
    • Glasses or contact lenses (for the eye test)
    • Pregnant patients: bring documents from your doctor/midwife, scans, and lab results
    • Drink enough fluids before your appointment for a urine sample (avoid booking during menstruation—book at least 3 days after)
    4. What does the immigration medical involve?
All age groups need a medical examination by a panel doctor. Some may also need blood tests and/or a chest X-ray (done off-site at our radiology partner). Any extra tests requested by Immigration NZ will incur additional charges. Once results are received, our doctor will review, complete, and submit them online to Immigration NZ. A copy can be given upon request.
    5. Are there any special requirements for children or interpreting services?
Patients under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian (bring legal documents if applicable). If you need an interpreter, you must arrange a professional interpreter—Immigration NZ does not allow friends, colleagues, or family members to interpret, though they may attend as support persons.
